Halloween Events

Halloween is finally here and we have two more Halloween events coming up before the big day!  On Thursday, October 29th at the Elwood Library, we’ll have a Halloween party for kids and teens from 4-6pm.  We’ll be making our own Halloween snacks and hanging out, so drop in anytime. All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult. We’re ending Halloween week with a big celebration at the Wathena Care Center. Come to our Halloween bash on Friday, October 30th! Dress up in your finest costumes and meet us at the Wathena Care Center at 10am that morning to show off your costumes for the residents.  We’ll have a party there with storytime, snacks, and games.  After the party, we’ll change locations to the Wathena Library and Trick-or-Treat down Wathena’s Main Street.

Scary Movie Night

At the Troy Library on Thursday, October 22, we’ll have an afterhours scary movie night for teens and adults.  We’ll be eating snacks and scaring ourselves silly from 7-10pm.  We let you pick the movie — as long as it’s rated PG-13 or lower.  Warning: Most of the movie choices will probably be too scary for small children, so please leave little ones at home.

Pool Party At Wathena

dTr6xGjT9On Friday, July 31st from 6:30-8:30pm, the library will host a pool party at the Wathena pool.  Admission to the pool will be free to all library users that evening, and we’ll have snacks and great prizes to give away, too. All ages are welcome. We’re having such a great summer of reading here at the library. Just a reminder that you have about two weeks to read and complete your summer reading bingo board. Don’t have a summer reading bingo board? Don’t know what a summer reading bingo board is? Stop by any branch and we’ll explain. Every bingo board that you turn in gives you one more entry into the grand prize drawing for your age group, so read, read, read! All reading bingo boards are due by July 31st to any branch.  They will not be eligible for the drawing if turned in after that date.
